Let me just start off by saying I. Loved. This. Session. We had perfect weather (yes, I’m based out of AZ, but you’d be surprised!), the bride-to-be brought her own adorable props, the light was gorgeous, and I had an absurdly good looking couple to work with. I can’t wait for their fall wedding…..
Everyone’s probably seen those super cute newborn portraits where the sleeping baby is in a cocoon….kicking back in a hammock….smoking a cigar (okay, maybe not that one, but you get the idea). Well, let’s just say none of that was happening with this wee one. She was a doll….but was wide awake for the whole session. There are a few that may look like she was sleeping, but I think she was just blinking really slow at that point.:) Oh well….she was a good sport and a ridiculously sweet babe, so I’ll deal with the alertness.
Shot this sweet wedding in a backyard down in Phoenix. This amazing couple somehow managed to get this wedding planned in less than two months! I was overwhelmed planning one in 10! Clearly this bride could easily rule the world. :) From the amazing food, gorgeous handmade cakes, and friends and family all around…..lots of love went into this day.
Arizona is such a state of extremes…..from the desolate beauty of the Sonoran desert, to the beautiful snow capped peaks in Flagstaff, there is such a diversity here. With this family/maternity session, I was able to capture AZ in one of it’s extremes. With lots of recent moisture, the area we chose to shoot at near a lake was transformed into a bayou looking forest. Standing water all over, neon green grass, and cottonwoods fully leafed out. The location filtered the light perfectly, and cast a gorgeous glow on this adorable growing family.
