This definitely goes in the books as one of my favorite engagement shoots to date. Not only was the couple gorgeous, they were so easy to work with. They had me pick the location (they’d never even seen it), and they had no problem hiking on the boulders in dress attire or standing at the base of a tree we were all allergic to. The results were definitely worth the sneezes the next day. Can’t wait for their wedding next year!
Give me all the desert maternity sessions please! These two parents to-be are expecting their first little babe in a few short weeks, and they seriously couldn’t be sweeter. Their little guy is going to be one lucky and loved babe!
The busy season has officially begun again for me, and I’m so excited to have a full schedule of shoots coming up. By the end of fall I always find myself wiped, but it doesn’t take long for me to be craving to be creative again. This sweet couple is getting married in the fall, and if their engagement session was any indication of how their wedding is going to go, it’s going to be an easy one to shoot. Laid back….fun….and filled with love.
So this session turned out to be a little colder than we were anticipating…you’ll probably notice the snow on the ground in some shots. And of course it was the one engagement session I forgot to bring a cute photo worthy blanket it to. But it was so worth braving the chilly temps for this dreamy winter light! The extremely photogenic couple didn’t hurt the images either. :)
Rarely do the words “glam” and “9 months pregnant” go together….but they definitely do with this lovely lady! This desert maternity shoot was so dang fun….and the results are so beautiful. The saguaros….that light….the gorgeous gal…it will be a hard one to beat!
This wedding marked the end of my 2018 wedding season….and what a lovely finish it was. The ceremony took place at a gorgeous historic cathedral in downtown Tucson and the reception was held at the nearby JW Marriott Starr Pass, with the most stunning desert backdrop. At the risk of betraying my northern roots….there’s nothing quite like that soft desert light. ❤
This wedding finished out the lovely Van Dickson Ranch’s wedding season; and what a beautiful wedding to end on. The weather was perfect, the couple was the absolute sweetest, and every detail was gorgeous.
A person would be hard-pressed to find two nicer people than these two. They were a dream to work with, and don’t even get me started on their adorable daughter. I normally like to do detail shots alone, so I can really focus; but when their sweet little girl asked to tag along I couldn’t say no. And she actually ended up being quite the little helper. Made for a really fun wedding to photograph.
Anyone who knows me is aware I’m not the biggest fan of the desert. Mainly because I hate snakes and for the longest time saguaros weirded me out….something about their arms…. it’s not right. :) That being said, I think this family session has officially converted me into a desert lover. The colors, the soft light, the beautiful family….perfection.
When you get the chance to do a bridal shoot with a gorgeous horse involved, you don’t hesitate. How Kasey rode in that dress is beyond me….but I’m so glad she did!
