Sometimes you have to scrap together “esthetically pleasing” locations for shoots….and then there are shoots like this one. Historic bridge, old corrals, red rock cliffs, antique truck, and a photogenic cowboy….I’ll take it. :)

This session didn’t go quuuuuite as planned…. to start off I was supposed to fly in over a day in advance and thanks to airline delays, I made it with like 3 minutes to spare. Then there was the weather….it was in the high 30’s with blustery winds and a mix of sleet/snow/rain. Not exactly ideal for photos. This adorable couple was seriously the best sports though…enduring the horrible conditions and ignoring numb fingers and toes. :) It was totally worth it because I absolutely love the way these photos turned out! From the stormy, moody skies…to the one peek of sun we had…the weather added some gorgeous drama to this engagement session.

I’m veering off a little bit from what I typically post on here. Typically, my website usually consists of just portrait work, but I take photos for myself almost everyday. Partly to continue to push my skills, and partly just because I love it.
Here in northern AZ, we had a couple of pretty good snow falls early in the season, but since the beginning of February we’ve had nothing but spring-like weather. I may be kicked out of the state for saying this, but lately I’ve been longing for more winter. When I was home to northern MN over the holidays, the weather was perfect. Lots of snow and daytime temps in the mid-twenties. I was able to snowshoe, skijor, and dogsled my parent’s Alaskan Malamute. Here’s some of my favorite winter love shots from both MN and AZ……

Family ranch setting….absolutely gorgeous flowers….and that dress!! Couldn’t have asked for a prettier wedding to photograph!

It may have taken a mix of puddles, mickey mouse, and my doggy assistant Stella to keep this adorable toddler’s attention…..but it was worth it. I love how this sweet mother and son session turned out!

This was definitely one of my favorite weddings….they were so creative (the venue was an archery range for crying out loud!), yet not a detail was missed. From all the rustic touches, to the antique truck that a stranger generously loaned them for the afternoon….everything came together perfectly for this beautiful couple.

The weather wasn’t ideal for this gorgeous girl’s senior session, but luckily the rain held off and the ominous clouds added some serious drama to the photos.

I’ve been so lucky to have the best clients to work with, and these two were a dream! I’m so glad their big day turned out so gorgeous!

The more senior sessions I do, the more I fall in love with them! This girl was such a sweetheart and game for anything! Her horse…..not so much. Even with his lack of cooperation, the photos came out gorgeous!!
