Even with the over four hours of pouring rain that occurred….I loved everything about this wedding day! The venue, that barn, and most of all the lovely couple.

It’s so fun getting to know more about my wedding couples through their engagement sessions. The groom-to-be of this sweet couple is actually from a rival town of where I went to high school in Wisconsin. Go Wildcats. :) Such a small world. Can’t wait for their spring wedding.

Summer weddings in Arizona can be a bit of a gamble….rain is likely, and so is blazing hot temperatures. This outdoor summer wedding was perfect though! The pines provided the perfect escape from the heat, and the day couldn’t have been nicer. Not to mention, the couple was pretty dang adorable as well.

This little peanut melts my heart! She was the best baby through the whole shoot…..and only slightly protested when we planted her in the garden like a vegetable. They seriously don’t come any cuter.

Most couples have a hard time acting natural and playful in front of the camera….these two, not so much. I loved how easy it was to capture their fun-loving relationship!

Such a fun engagement session to shoot in both the urban and natural landscapes of Flagstaff. The weather was perfect, the couple was so fun, and then there was their doggy, Ginger…..seriously the cutest.

This session definitely goes into the books as one of my favorites! The Sedona location couldn’t have provided a better backdrop for this engagement session. Granted, if you’ve ever been to Oak Creek Canyon on a Saturday, we had to work for it to find secluded spots…..which meant I had the bride-to-be hiking in wedges. The results were so worth it though! The creek, the lush woods, the red rocks….all of it added such gorgeous drama to the shots.

It takes quite a bit to get me up well before dawn…..this early morning engagement session in Jerome was totally worth the early rise! I loved working with this easy-going, up for anything couple….can’t wait for their upcoming summer wedding!

Sometimes you have to scrap together “esthetically pleasing” locations for shoots….and then there are shoots like this one. Historic bridge, old corrals, red rock cliffs, antique truck, and a photogenic cowboy….I’ll take it. :)

This session didn’t go quuuuuite as planned…. to start off I was supposed to fly in over a day in advance and thanks to airline delays, I made it with like 3 minutes to spare. Then there was the weather….it was in the high 30’s with blustery winds and a mix of sleet/snow/rain. Not exactly ideal for photos. This adorable couple was seriously the best sports though…enduring the horrible conditions and ignoring numb fingers and toes. :) It was totally worth it because I absolutely love the way these photos turned out! From the stormy, moody skies…to the one peek of sun we had…the weather added some gorgeous drama to this engagement session.
