If rain on a wedding day is good luck….this couple is going to be the luckiest couple ever. It seriously never…stopped…raining. And of course they had planned for the sweetest little ceremony and reception to be outside. Needless to say, that didn’t happen. But between using roofs, dodging drops, and a giant umbrella, we were still able to get some of my favorite wedding photos to date!

As this pair had planned just a small civil ceremony in Phoenix, when they were up here elk hunting, they wanted to do an “engagement” type shoot. Any couple that can go hunting together and still decide to get married….I’m impressed. :) These two were such a blast to work with and I couldn’t be happier for them!

I’ve been taking this little guy’s pictures since he was just a little gomper….and it was so enjoyable to shoot the whole family this time….doggy included. Speaking of which, just know that if you bring your pup to a shoot….there’s a good chance you’ll get just as many photos of just your dog, as family images. I love dogs. :)

I was so looking forward to this shoot as I hadn’t seen Glenna since high school, and now she had a sweet family too. To say not everything went according to plan with this shoot would be a bit of an understatement. We had everything from a dead battery in my vehicle, rain showers to dodge, and then locked keys in the car. Even with the “challenges”…..this fall family session was so fun. And I’m a little obsessed with their little dog. The least outdoorsy dog I’ve ever seen and it was hilarious.

I’d been looking forward to shooting this wedding since meeting this adorable couple at their engagement session this spring. Needless to say, it didn’t disappoint! It was a gorgeous rooftop ceremony at the historic Hassayampa hotel; and the weather cooperated just enough. It poured 30 minutes after the ceremony…..we got lucky. :)

At the risk of sounding really old….I gotta ask. What happened to the awkward teenage stage?!? The seniors I’ve had the pleasure of photographing make high school look gooooood. This girl was no exception…..ridiculously gorgeous and so fun to work with.

Oh how I loved shooting this wedding. The day had the most beautiful boho vibe to it, and it didn’t hurt that the couple was so stinkin’ striking . Set in Duluth, we were able to shoot the bridal portraits on the rocky shore of Superior; and then the ceremony and reception took place in a gorgeous historic warehouse, that has been converted into a beautiful venue. As a photographer, it doesn’t get much better!

After our first attempt getting completely rained out, mother nature totally redeemed herself with the light on the second attempt. This adorable family + set at the base of Granite Mountain + that light = perfection. As Alex and Mark didn’t get engagement photos or bridal portraits done, we had to sneak in a few of just the two of them too.
miss sadie
I adore this little lady and her momma. She’s seven weeks behind Oliver in age and it’s so fun to watch them grow together. This little doll is all girl though….even her cry is cute and feminine. :)

We meant to shoot family photos when miss K was just a babe, but better late than never! Two years later, this family is still the cutest. Actually, I take that back….they get cuter.
